Originally, a historic vacationland resort located between Huron and Vermilion. Now has full and part time residents. Some of the original cottages are still standing and being used today. The word 'mitiwanga' is from Native American lore meaning 'peaceful shore or sandy beach'. A community park exists in the middle of the area and the beautiful beach stretches the entire length of Lake Erie shoreline that abuts the small village. Great for raising a small family or that vacation getaway.
